WEB Advising for Students Entering the BS in Construction Management Studies Program

To be considered for entry into the Certified Program in Construction Management (Second year), a student must have completed at least 31 semester credit hours of Pre-Construction Management  requirements. They must include the following WSU courses or their equivalents from other institutions.

In Freshman year most students complete 15/16 credits per semester

Student coming from High School with few or no transfer credits

Examples of lower level GER courses that will complete requirement for Graduation or refer to catalog for other selections

Intercultural Studies (I, G, K) – 3 credits
Anth 101, CES 101, ForL 101, Mus 163 or select from catalog

Social Sciences (S, K) - 3 credits
Soc 101 (S/D), Com 101, Hist 150 (S/D)

Sciences (B, P, Q) –10 credits including a lab, 3 credits (B)
(P), Phys 101/102 4cr    (B) Biological Science: FSHN 103, ESRP 101 (P) Physical Science: Astr 135, Chem 101, Geol 101, Phys 102

Communication Prof. – 6credits
(including Eng 101) ComSt 102 (C), Eng 200, HD 205

Arts and Humanities (H,G) - 3 credits

American Diversity (D) 3 credits required may be combined with S, T, H  Soc 101 (S,D), CES 131 (S,D), Anth 214(S,D), Hist 150 (S,D)

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

-(Only one (1) of Math 171

-Do not take Physics 101 (second year) before completing Math 171

-The remaining credits (to make 26) should be selected from General Education Courses required for graduation. The highest Grades obtained in these courses will be considered for application to second year.

-Please register as early as possible because classes fill up early and may not be available late in the summer

-Math placement test will indicate which math course is suitable ie math 107 or 171.

-English placement test will indicate English course required

-Math sequence is critical – if a student is not academically prepared to enter Math 171 therefore Math 107 may be required. It is imperative to enroll and complete Math 107 fall semester so that Math 171 may be completed spring semester and the math requirement for entry to second year satisfied.

Students that are transferring from a community college or other universities outside WSU may challenge CST M 102 Introduction to Construction.   Please contact the School for information concerning challenging Cst M 102.   

Students entering the Construction Management Program with many Transfer Credits or with a 2 year degree may have completed many of the General Education Requirements (GER). These students will have space in their schedule. The School suggestion is to consider a minor in another discipline or to take courses that will reinforce and support your degree program.
