Ascher-Barnstone 509-335-7899 Doctor of Philosophy, Delft University of Technology Deborah Ascher Barnstone is Associate Professor at Washington State University and Research Fellow at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Dr. Barnstone holds a PhD in Architectural History from Delft (2004); M. Arch from Columbia University (1992); and B. A. with High Honors in English Literature from Barnard College, Columbia University (1981). Dr. Barnstone is a licensed architect and partner with Ascher Barnstone Architects as well as an active architectural historian. Her book "The Transparent State: Architecture and Politics in Postwar Germany" was published by Routledge in 2005. She is currently working on a history of modernism in Breslau during the Weimar era.
