BENCHMARKS

One of the most compelling reasons to receive a degree in architecture or construction management is that architects and construction managers are uniquely positioned to make significant contributions to the quality of our lives and the environment. The nature of buildings, spaces, landscapes and construction methods plays a critical role in how people feel, behave, interact and communicate. It is this first principle that underscores the collective goals of the faculty and curriculum in the School.

Within this context, the School of Architecture and Construction Management at Washington State University (WSU) is dedicated to providing exceptional professional education in architecture and construction management. The program focuses on the character of our built environment. Our programs are structured to provide students a diverse educational experience while maintaining the rigorous performance standards required for success in the profession and for academic accreditation.

A significant benefit of attending WSU is that students have direct access to dedicated and extraordinary faculty members. The School’s faculty is comprised of individuals with a breadth and scope of experience that spans many countries and cultures as well as differing experiences in architecture and construction. Through their research and contributions to the profession the faculty have achieved national and international recognition. They continue to influence the development and progress of the professions. Through the faculty and curriculum students in the School are exposed to global, regional and local forces that structure and determine the built environment. The curriculum is organized in a manner that encourages understanding in the areas of philosophy, theory and history as well as technical areas such as structures, materials and environmental systems. Thus, students will receive a focused and comprehensive education, the reason why the School is so well known for providing remarkable graduates and leaders.

The following WEB pages and links describe in detail our programs and educational opportunities at WSU. Please feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have about our programs, or if you want to visit the campus and the School.
